The BLS put financial and investment analysts at a median wage of $102,740 a year in May 2025, or $49.39 an hour, with the 10th percentile at $63,720, the 25th at $79,290, the 75th at $133,340 and the 90th at $180,860.
BLS wage benchmarks for financial and investment analysts, May 2025| Percentile | Annual wage | Hourly wage |
|---|
| 10th percentile | $63,720 | $30.63 |
| 25th percentile | $79,290 | $38.12 |
| Median | $102,740 | $49.39 |
| 75th percentile | $133,340 | $64.11 |
| 90th percentile | $180,860 | $86.95 |

So the base rate is competitive for the occupation rather than exceptional, and the bonus is what lifts the package above the median once it is included.
Annual figures for a graduate programme are usually quoted without the bonus, and the bonus is where the first-year negotiation happens. A base of $118,000 with a competitive bonus is a different offer from a base of $132,000 with no bonus.
How much does a BlackRock analyst earn per week and per year?
At the $88,569 company average the weekly gross is about $1,703, and at a $118,000 base it is $2,269 a week and $118,000 a year.
On a $102,000 business analyst starting rate the annual figure is $1,962 a week, and the $145,000 investment banking analyst total compensation is $2,788 a week once the bonus is included.
Those are salaried figures on a professional programme rather than hourly pay, which is worth noting for anyone comparing them with the service roles earlier in this series. There is no hourly rate to publish because the schedule is a full-time graduate programme.

A programme that names its business areas is also a programme that tells you what kind of work you are signing up for. Financial Markets Advisory is client-facing and deal-driven, while the FinTech platform track is product and engineering work.
The sixteen EMEA locations on the posting matter for the salary range as much as for the application, because each one appears in the ranges document with its own band.
What does an analyst at BlackRock actually do?
The programme is a graduate scheme with named business areas, and the 2027 round for EMEA lists two of them: Financial Markets Advisory in London, and Client and Product Functions working in sales, relationship management and the FinTech platform.
The locations on that posting give the scale of it. London sits alongside Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Belgrade, Brussels, Budapest, Cape Town, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Milan, Munich, Paris, Riyadh and Stockholm, and every one of them carries its own salary range.
Elsewhere the firm runs teams in private wealth solutions, sales and relationship management, corporate actions and the technology side of the Aladdin platform. A colleague in the platform group and a colleague in financial markets advisory hold the same title and do different work.
That is the context for the title ladder question.
The first two years are structured, trained and assessed, and the firm describes its own principle in one line: it is a fiduciary to its clients. That framing is why the graduate scheme carries a salary range document rather than a single figure.
A single ladder has one advantage for an employer and one for an employee. For the employer it makes promotion decisions consistent across divisions, and for the employee it makes a move from platform work into investments a normal internal transfer rather than a job change.
How does the single title ladder change the picture?
Because BlackRock runs one ladder across technology and investments, the same title can carry a $102,000 base or a $145,000 total package, and the division decides which.
There is no separate technology or investments ladder. The titles are Analyst, Associate, Vice President, Director and Managing Director across the firm, which is simpler to navigate and harder to price from the outside.
The consequence for an applicant is that the job title tells you almost nothing on its own. The business area, the location and the programme all matter more, and the salary ranges document is where those differences are set out in public.
The fraud warning is not a minor line. In a hiring market where entry-level finance offers are worth six figures, impersonation is common, and a company that tells you how recruiters will never contact you has done the applicant a real service.
What benefits do BlackRock employees get?
The careers site promises best-in-class benefits for employees both in and out of work, and pairs that with a commitment to growing and developing employees to help them reach their full potential.
The practical detail on the same pages is worth more to an applicant than a summary of the programmes.
BlackRock states that all roles it recruits for externally are posted on its careers site, that recruiter emails always come from an official blackrock.com address and never from a webmail provider, and that recruiters never reach out through chat or text.
That is a short paragraph with a real purpose. Entry-level finance hiring attracts impersonation attempts, and an employer that writes its own warning into the careers pages is telling applicants exactly how to check whether an offer is genuine.
The wider benefits message runs alongside the career development framework, with wellness programmes, financial education resources and the kind of internal mobility that a single title ladder makes easier to navigate.
The BlackRock analyst starting salary range is therefore best compared on two axes, base against base and total against total, because a technology track base of $118,000 and a bank analyst base of $110,000 do not produce the same first-year outcome.
How does BlackRock compare with other financial services employers?
On starting pay, BlackRock sits well above the service employers covered earlier in this series, and it is the bonus structure rather than the base that separates it from a traditional bank.
Fidelity pays about $33.83 an hour for a financial customer associate, Vanguard starts at $52,265 a year, and Charles Schwab starts training at $26.01 an hour. BlackRock starts at a base of roughly $118,000 on the technology track.
Against the investment banking banks, the comparison is different again. A first-year analyst base at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Citi sits at $110,000, which is close to the BlackRock technology base, and the differentiation happens in the bonus rather than in the base.
What separates BlackRock from the banks is the shape of the ladder. The bank analyst path is a two-year programme followed by a promotion decision, while a technology analyst at an asset manager works on a platform that carries the firm long after the programme ends.
One more practical point for the 2027 round. The posting names a closing date of 31 October 2026 and says applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, which in practice means a strong application submitted in September can be assessed before a weaker one submitted in October.
What happens to BlackRock analyst pay next?
Expect the published programme ranges to keep rising while the gap between business areas widens.
Two forces are at work. Asset management hiring runs with the size of the assets under management, and the technology side competes with software employers rather than with other asset managers, which pulls the Aladdin and platform teams in a different direction from the investment side.
For applicants the practical point is the deadline. The 2027 EMEA round closes on 31 October 2026 with rolling review and an August start date, which means a programme that looks open in November is already closed in practice.

Read the programme salary ranges document for your business area, and apply before the rolling review fills the cohort.
