When is the Salesforce Dreamforce Investor Day 2026?

Salesforce's Investor and Analyst Session at Dreamforce is on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. PT / 4:00 p.m. ET at the St. Regis in San Francisco. A live webcast and replay are available on the Salesforce Investor Relations website. Salesforce last held its Investor Day at Dreamforce in October 2025 (Salesforce investor relations, September 2026).

What is Salesforce expected to announce on September 16, 2026?

Salesforce is expected to formally unveil its outcome-based pricing model for Agentforce — billed by resolutions rather than seats — and to update the FY30 "$60 billion-plus" revenue target and "50 by FY30" operating framework. The session will also feature the Claudeforce integration with Anthropic, embedding Salesforce data and 37 prebuilt sales skills inside Claude (Salesforce investor relations, TIKR.com, September 2026).

What is Claudeforce and when is it launching?

Claudeforce is the Anthropic-Salesforce partnership that embeds Salesforce data and 37 prebuilt sales skills inside Claude. The integration is in pilot now with an open beta scheduled for September 2026. Together with Agentforce, Claudeforce positions Salesforce as a system of record that Claude and other AI models reach into (Salesforce Q2 FY27 release, August 26, 2026).

What was Salesforce's Q2 FY2027 revenue?

Salesforce reported Q2 FY2027 revenue of $11.345 billion on August 26, 2026, up 10.83% year-over-year and in constant currency. Current remaining performance obligation (cRPO) grew 14% in constant currency to $33.5 billion — the fastest bookings pace in four years. Subscription and support revenue was $10.8 billion, up 11% in constant currency (Salesforce Q2 FY27 press release, August 26, 2026).

What is the FY30 revenue target Salesforce set in 2025?

At its October 2025 Investor Day, Salesforce set a target of $60 billion-plus in revenue by fiscal 2030 and a "50 by FY30" framework, aiming for subscription growth plus operating margin to sum to 50. The September 16, 2026 session is billed as a look at the "latest innovation and financial framework," and investors will watch whether those targets are reaffirmed, raised, or quietly walked back now that the outcome-based pricing model is real rather than theoretical (Salesforce October 2025 Investor Day; TIKR.com, September 2026).

How does outcome-based pricing affect Salesforce's gross margin?

Outcome-based pricing can lift margins if Salesforce routes each task to the cheapest capable model, but a failed task burns compute without producing revenue. JPMorgan's Samik Chatterjee named the September 16 event as the next major catalyst and laid out the two-sided bet. Salesforce's IR team said the company owns model routing to capture "the efficiency and token pricing changes that are happening," which is the structural margin argument (JPMorgan analyst note, September 2026; Salesforce investor webinar, September 1, 2026).

Salesforce Dreamforce Investor Day Sep 16, 2026: AI Pricing

Q: What is outcome-based pricing for Agentforce?

Under outcome-based pricing, an AI agent like Salesforce's Casey service agent is billed by resolutions rather than per-seat. Bill Patterson, President and Chief Commercial Officer, told investors on September 1, 2026: "If they don't resolve the issue, you don't pay for the offering." The model reframes Salesforce as the system of record AI models reach into, rather than the software AI displaces (Bill Patterson, Salesforce, September 1, 2026).

Why September 16 matters for Salesforce

The market priced in the second-quarter beat but left the AI-pricing question unanswered. Salesforce reported Q2 FY2027 revenue of $11.345 billion on August 26, 2026, beating consensus, and raised full-year guidance by $200 million (to $46.1-$46.4 billion) — but the headline adjusted EPS of $5.90 was flattered by $2.53 from a gain on Salesforce's Anthropic stake, marking the Anthropic round at a $965 billion valuation. Strip out the unrealized gain, and underlying EPS was closer to $3.37, growth of about 16% rather than the headline doubling (Salesforce Q2 FY27 press release, August 26, 2026).

That is why the September 1 investor webinar pushed the hard numbers to Dreamforce. As TIKR's preview put it: "On September 16, the company holds its Investor and Analyst Session at Dreamforce, and it has to answer the one question its blowout quarter left open: as AI agents replace the human seats it has billed for since 1999, does surging usage actually become recurring revenue, or does it just show up as activity?" (TIKR.com, September 2026).

Outcome-based pricing: how it works

Outcome-based pricing bills the customer only when the agent resolves the issue. Bill Patterson, President and Chief Commercial Officer, told investors on September 1, 2026: "If they don't resolve the issue, you don't pay for the offering." That answers the seat-cannibalization fear directly: if agents retire human seats, Salesforce bills for the work those agents do instead (Salesforce investor webinar, September 1, 2026).

Patterson flagged a customer whose AI spending was up 30% while measured productivity rose only 3%, "the exact mismatch outcome pricing is meant to fix." Connor Marsden, President of Sales and Chief Consumption Officer, said service use cases consume roughly five times the Agentic Work Units of other workloads, and that top-up credit purchases — where customers exhaust capacity and buy more — are concentrated there. Salesforce's IR team said half of Agentforce bookings now come from existing customers refilling in that same motion (Salesforce investor webinar, September 1, 2026).

Claudeforce: Salesforce inside Claude

Alongside Q2 results, Salesforce and Anthropic unveiled Claudeforce, which embeds Salesforce data and 37 prebuilt sales skills inside Claude. The integration is in pilot now with an open beta scheduled for September 2026. The framing matters: instead of Salesforce competing with Claude, Salesforce becomes the system of record Claude reaches into, capturing the work other AI models do on its data (Salesforce Q2 FY27 release; Anthropic newsroom, August 2026).

The Anthropic stake — marked up to $965 billion in the most recent round — is the structural underpinning of that partnership. Salesforce owns a meaningful equity position, and the unrealized mark-to-market gain contributed $2.53 of the $5.90 in adjusted Q2 EPS. The September 16 update is expected to lay out how the Claudeforce economics flow through the P&L beyond the equity mark (Salesforce Q2 FY27 press release; TIKR.com, September 2026).

FY30 framework and the path there

The FY30 framework is the single most-watched number on the day. At its October 2025 Investor Day, Salesforce set a target of $60 billion-plus in revenue by fiscal 2030 and a "50 by FY30" framework, aiming for subscription growth plus operating margin to sum to 50. The FY27 raise to $46.1-$46.4 billion implies a three-year revenue CAGR of about 9.5% from FY27 to FY30 — slower than the implied 10.5% needed to hit $60B by FY30, so Salesforce needs to either reaffirm with a higher three-year target or reframe the metric (Salesforce October 2025 Investor Day; TIKR.com, September 2026).

The two drivers analysts will watch are: (1) forward revenue CAGR near 10% led by AI-related ARR across Agentforce and Data 360, and (2) cross-sell into the installed base, where existing customers already supply half of Agentforce bookings. The margin driver is net income margin widening from 26% toward roughly 27% as outcome-based pricing and model-routing efficiency flow through (Salesforce investor webinar, September 1, 2026).

Acquisitions: Contentful and Fin

Two pending acquisitions are already in the FY27 guidance. In June 2026 Salesforce announced separate definitive agreements to acquire Contentful (headless CMS) and Fin (AI agent platform). Both transactions are now expected to close independently in the coming weeks, during the third quarter of Salesforce's FY27. The acquisitions have been incorporated into all metrics within the updated guidance, with the exception of cRPO; the guidance is conditional upon closing (Salesforce Q2 FY27 press release, August 26, 2026).

The Informatica acquisition, which closed earlier in the fiscal year, contributed $456 million of revenue in Q2 and is expected to add slightly above 4 percentage points of growth to Q3 subscription revenue. The combined Contentful and Fin contribution adds another $100 million to the FY27 raise.

Stock setup into the event

Shares drifted back to $259 ahead of the event, about 4% below the 52-week high and a long way up from June's $150 bottom. Salesforce trades at an NTM P/E of 17.68x and EV/EBITDA of 12.91x — a discount to ServiceNow (21.59x) and Cadence (25.25x), with only Oracle (11.89x) and Adobe (8.19x) screening cheaper. The mean analyst target is $272.13, leaving only about 5% implied upside from $259.23, but 34 Buys and 6 Outperforms versus 14 Holds and 2 Underperforms (TIKR.com, September 2026).

A credible outcome-based pricing framework on September 16 — with measurable Agentforce attach rates, top-up behavior, and FY30 reaffirmation — could close the gap. A "we'll update next quarter" response risks the discount widening further as the Anthropic-stake tailwind compresses.
